Attendee Information Privacy Protection Policy
Before we get started, there are some important updates regarding your safety and privacy we want to update you on. Protecting our Member-owned community from exploitation, unfair extraction, or misuse of personal information is paramount.
New Attendee Information Privacy Protection Policy! This past spring, the SporkDAO Board of Stewards moved to protect the privacy of our Member and Attendees by limiting any and all sharing of attendee information to only those attendees who choose to OPT-IN to sharing of personal information. This means that if you do not explicitly agree your information will never be shared.
Who are these sponsors and partners exactly? ETHDenver focuses on only allowing sponsors and partners who are ethos-aligned with our community goals to participate: community, education and #BUIDLing. Most of our sponsors are hand-selected and Web3-native. We actively avoid obvious shillers or highly extractive corporate interests, regardless of how much money they offer to contribute. In fact, we frequently say 'no' to organizations who don't fit our community vibe.
Reasons to share: If you choose to share your information, some of the benefits include:
- Airdrops (e.g. tokens, NFTs, POAPs)
- Exclusive Event Invitations
- Job/Project Opportunities
- Mentorship Opportunities
- Community Updates
- Additional Opt-in Opportunities
Anon Friendly: It is important that we do our best to accommodate all people in our community. We welcome anons to apply, however, our insurance provider does require us to gather limited information and verify your identification when checking in on-site for liability reasons. We've done our best to cut down required information to a minimum and will never share it without your explicit permission. All accepted applicants, anon or otherwise, will be required to provide a government-issued photo identification that matches your ticket at check-in.
Information Shared: Should you grant permission, we will share your name, email, self-identifying interests/categories, Discord handle, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Github.
